But if you've just upgraded your engine and have some RP spare, it helps to give a boost here and there. Especially the ones for 10 RP, the 70k cost is pretty huge. Making a lot of sequals (as long as you've upgraded your engine since making the last sequal of that game) will also help save a lot of RP. Small games also allow you to take advantage of releasing 2 games when a specific genre is hot, if you time it right. I was still getting good scores with small games and only 2 other employees, and since they're cheaper and faster to develop, there was no need to take the risk on medium games until the scores were 6s and 7s. I just looked at my recent game, and it looks like I didn't start medium games until Year 17. On future playthroughs my cash just kept getting wittled away and I'd go bankrupt before being able to afford a new engine. You could try to rush to medium games, I did that on one playthrough, but I think I just got extremely lucky in releasing two massive hits close together. I find the longest just gives you more 6-7 rated games rather than 8-10.
